Location

Bishop Burton is a picturesque village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It lies on the A1079 road approximately 3 miles (5 km) to the west of the historic, market town of Beverley.
The village feeds into the area's sought after primary school in nearby Walkington village and the highly regarded secondary schools and college in Beverley.
There are good transport links with regular buses to Hull and York from the village as well as easy access by car to the M62 to West Yorkshire (approximately 20 minutes drive ) and the A1079 to Hull (approximately 16 minutes drive), Pocklington (approximately 22 minutes drive ) and York (approximately 45 minutes drive).
The much photographed village centres around a pretty pond with many of the houses painted in black and white. There is a village hall, post office and general stores as well as a pub with a restaurant.
The village is known for the college, originally an agricultural college but now offering a wide variety of educational courses, this lies to the north and the superb college gym is open to the public.

The village parish church of All Saints is a Grade II listed building and its earliest parts date from the late 12th century. The only other surviving religious building is the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, dating from 1840, which is now a house.

Nearby Beverley is an historic market town which is highly sought-after owing to its picturesque town with a multitude of historic buildings and its thriving arts community centred around East Riding Theatre and the Treasure House heritage centre with adjoining art gallery.
There is a regular bus service to the town where there are several churches including the Minster and St Mary's; various supermarkets and chain stores; individual boutique shops; coffee bars and restaurants. The picturesque Westwood Pastures located west of the town is used by many town centre and village residents for walking and relaxing.
The East Riding has many walking and cycling areas and Beverley has been part of the Tour de Yorkshire route. Beverley also has its own race course which is approximately 1.8 miles away from the village.
York can be reached in approximately 45 minutes ( 28 miles ) and Hull within 20 minutes ( 11 miles ) .
